1 Kings

1 Kings opens with Solomon at the height of his wisdom and wealth, the temple finished, and then shows how fast it all goes. His foreign wives turn him, and within a generation his son's arrogance splits the kingdom. After that the book follows two royal lines side by side and judges each king by one measure.
