Exodus

Exodus is the Old Testament's defining rescue. God hears and remembers, and he brings Israel out with a high hand. Deliverance fills only half the book, though, and the second half is covenant and construction, as a freed crowd becomes a people with law, priesthood, and a tabernacle.
