Mark moves at a run: immediately is his favourite word, and there is no birth narrative to delay the start. He builds a puzzle — demons know who Jesus is, disciples do not, and Jesus keeps silencing those who guess. The answer comes at the cross, where a Roman centurion says what no follower has managed.
