Ruth

Ruth is set in the disorder of the judges. A foreign woman will not leave her mother-in-law, a landowner honors the law's provision for the poor, and a family line is saved from dying out. The book ends with a genealogy that runs to David, so the Moabite widow becomes his great-grandmother.
