The land

The land is promised to Abraham's offspring, held under God's ownership, given under Joshua and lost in exile. A psalm promises that the meek will inherit it; Jesus says they will inherit the earth; Paul calls Abraham heir of the world; Hebrews has the patriarchs living in tents, looking for a city.
