God's dwelling with His people

God walks in Eden; then His presence is housed — tent, temple — and, in Ezekiel, seen leaving. John says the Word 'tabernacled' among us; Paul says the church is the temple; Revelation ends with no temple at all, because God dwells with His people directly. The theme measures how near God is.
