Patrick tells how he came to Ireland

Patrick wrote his Confession in Latin late in life, to give an account of himself and his mission. Born in Roman Britain, he was carried off to Ireland by raiders as a teenager. The Confession and a letter to a British chieftain are the only writings historians accept as his own.
