Parables of Jesus

The hardest thing about the parables is that we already know how they end. This track works on the form rather than the plot — the comparison thrown alongside, the Old Testament stories that stand behind it in Nathan and Jotham and Isaiah and Ezekiel, the ways a story turns a hearer into a defendant, the ordinary detail that carries it, and the Luke 15 chapter where all of it comes together. Where careful interpreters genuinely disagree, the question asks what the text says or what a named scholar argues, never which side is right.
