Scripture Trail

Privacy Policy

Effective October 22, 2026

Hardy Rehabilitation LLC, doing business as Scripture Trail, operates the Scripture Trail web application at scripturetrail.com. In this policy, “Scripture Trail,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Hardy Rehabilitation LLC.

Scripture Trail is a Bible-literacy service for a broad audience: adults, teens, churches, families and other Bible learners. It is not specifically designed or marketed primarily to children under 13. Children may use it, and when we know a user is under 13 we apply the additional protections described in section 7. This policy covers the current United States release, which is guest-only and runs in a web browser.

1. What this release does not do

There are no user accounts. We do not ask you for a name, alias, email address, telephone number, birth date, age, photograph, voice recording, contact list, payment details, or profile information.

This release does not use advertising, cross-site tracking, device fingerprinting, user profiling, or any analytics service that identifies a visitor. It does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. The one thing we do count is described in section 4.

Some of these features may be added later. If any of them is, this policy will be revised and re-dated before that feature is switched on, not afterward.

2. What stays on your device

Your learning progress, streaks, badges, scores, preferences and accessibility settings are saved in your own browser’s storage. They are not sent to us and are not stored in any account or database.

You can delete all of it at any time: open Settings and choose Reset local progress. Clearing site data for scripturetrail.com in your browser does the same thing. Switching devices or using private browsing may erase your progress too. Because it was never stored in an account, we cannot recover it for you.

3. Your age

We never ask for your birthday, and we never store one.

Some features are only appropriate for certain ages. Scripture Trail asks your age only when such a feature is switched on, and right now none is, so you will not see that question at all. If we later turn on analytics or advertising, we will first ask you to choose one of three ranges: under 13, 13 to 17, or 18 or older.

Your answer is saved on your device and nowhere else. It is not sent to us, to Google, or to any other company, and it is never attached to anything you do in the app. We keep the range you chose, not your age and not a date.

If you clear your browser’s site data, switch devices, or the answer grows old, Scripture Trail will simply ask again.

Anyone who answers “under 13” keeps the whole app. Every game, every passage and every feature works exactly the same. The answer only decides whether age-restricted features run, never how much of Scripture Trail you get.

4. Information handled automatically when you visit

Loading any website necessarily sends information to the systems that deliver it. For Scripture Trail this may include:

  • Your Internet Protocol (IP) address
  • Browser type and user-agent information
  • Operating system or device category
  • The page or file requested
  • Date and time of the request
  • Error, security and network-delivery information

This is used only to deliver the app, keep it secure, prevent abuse, diagnose faults, and meet legal obligations. It is not used to contact anyone, to build a profile, to serve advertising, or to track anyone across other services.

For children under 13, we rely on the COPPA exception permitting persistent identifiers used solely to support the internal operations of the service. We do not use them for advertising, profiling, or contacting a child.

Usage counts. To learn whether Scripture Trail is useful, the app adds one to a handful of daily totals: for example, how many devices opened the app for the first time today, how many came back a week later, and how many quiz rounds were finished. These are totals only. We do not record who you are, your device, your age, your IP address, or what you studied, and the totals cannot be linked back to you. Each count travels as a single request to our database provider, Supabase, Inc., which processes the request information described above in order to deliver it, under its own terms and privacy notice, as any web host does. We store only the totals. These counts have run since October 22, 2026.

5. Hosting

Vercel Inc. provides hosting, content delivery and network security for Scripture Trail, and processes the request information described in section 4 in order to serve the site. Vercel handles that information under its own terms, published security measures and privacy notice.

We do not export or keep routine hosting logs ourselves. If a log is preserved because of a specific security incident, we keep that incident record no longer than 24 months after the incident is closed, unless the law requires otherwise.

6. Bible text

This release offers the Berean Standard Bible and the World English Bible, both freely licensed. Your browser requests Bible text only from scripturetrail.com itself. That request is fulfilled by our own server, which fetches the passage from the upstream Bible provider, so the provider receives a request from our hosting environment, not from you, and does not receive your IP address.

Those requests are made a chapter at a time. Which specific verse you are reading or practicing is worked out inside your browser and is not sent anywhere. Chapters you have read are cached in your browser so they can be re-read without another request.

7. Children

Scripture Trail is not designed or marketed primarily for children under 13. Its questions, passages and history content are pitched at teenagers and adults, and much of it is hard going for a younger child on their own. Children are welcome to use it with a parent or guardian’s permission and supervision.

When a user tells us they are under 13, we treat that as knowledge of their age and protect them accordingly. If we later switch on analytics or advertising, neither will run for that user (see section 3).

This release does not let anyone, child or adult, create an account, set up a profile, submit text, or share anything with other users. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond the automatic request information described in section 4.

Because progress stays on the device and is not tied to an account, we generally cannot identify, retrieve or delete a particular child’s information, but a parent or guardian can erase all of it from the device using Reset local progress in Settings, and may contact us with any question or concern using the details in section 11.

Before Scripture Trail activates accounts, profiles, groups, cloud sync, user submissions, analytics, advertising, or payments, we will update this policy as needed and implement the age-appropriate privacy, notice, consent, and security controls required for that feature. Where parental notice or verifiable parental consent is legally required, we will obtain it before collecting the covered information.

8. Disclosure

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising. We may disclose limited information where reasonably necessary to comply with the law, protect users, investigate a security incident, or enforce our legal rights.

9. Security

We maintain a written information security program for this release. It includes HTTPS everywhere, a restrictive Content Security Policy, minimal third-party code, dependency review, provider access controls, and incident-response procedures.

No online service can promise perfect security. Parents and guardians should supervise children’s use of connected devices and keep browsers and devices up to date.

10. Where this release is offered

This release is intended and supported for users in the United States. We do not market it elsewhere. Being able to reach the site from another country does not mean we have launched there.

We will change the effective date at the top whenever this policy is revised, and we will give additional notice before a material change that expands what is collected or affects children’s information.
